PRESS RELEASE
Plowden & Smith will be relocating to new South West London premises at the end of 2018 in a move that will cement their reputation as one of the leading forces in conservation and restoration.
Each of the eleven spacious departmental studios have each been specifically designed for the care and conservation of a particular material, and will be fitted out with brand new, state-of-the-art technology and equipment. The new studio will be environmentally-monitored and lit throughout with colour-corrected LED lighting. The space will also feature a greatly enlarged climate-controlled strong room to ensure that more diverse objects can be accommodated in an optimised environment. These facilities will allow Plowden & Smith to continue to offer the same world class service to their UK and international client base of private collectors, museums, auction houses and professional fine art service providers.
“Moving to a studio we have actually designed is incredibly exciting because it will allow us to become far more responsive in the way we meet the increasingly diverse needs of our clients,” says Camilla Hughes-Hunt, Managing Director of the company. “For the past few years, the restrictions imposed on us by working in an historic building have proved incompatible with the high-quality service we offer and the importance we place on reducing our carbon footprint.”
“This move will give us a home that more accurately reflects the ethos that has driven Plowden & Smith to its current position as conservators of the highest quality through innovation, the use of new technology, keeping abreast of the latest research developments, and taking a science-led approach. We are all very excited about the opportunities this move gives us” Camilla Hughes-Hunt.
Plowden & Smith will be relocating in December 2018 to Unit 5, Liongate Enterprise Park, Morden Road, Mitcham, CR4 4NY, telephone number: +44 (0)20 8874 4005
